India has extended the exemption from mandatory quality norms for select steel and stainless steel imports until Mar 2026, easing market access for critical grades, local media reported. The move, aimed at sustaining supply as domestic production scales up, also removes NOC requirements for non-QCO-covered steel types, following regulatory reform recommendations.
