The Baltic dry bulk freight index was up for a 5th consecutive trading day on Nov 19 amid broad-based gains across all vessel segments. The BDI index gained 44 points or 1.99% from the previous session to 2,260 points, the highest since Sep 25. The Capesize freight index, tracking large ships carrying cargoes like iron ore and coal, increased 3.4% to a near 2-month high of 3,636 points, while the Panamax index ascended 0.7% to 1,895 points. The Supramax index grew 0.2% to 1,430 points, up for the 10th straight session.
