State-owned NTPC Ltd., India's leading power generator, will add 9.8 GW of new capacity in FY26 (ending Mar 2026), backed by 35,144 crore rupees ($4 bln) in capital investment, local media reported. The plan includes 2.78 GW from thermal and 2.079 GW from renewables, with an internal RE target of 6 GW. The move supports India's 2030 clean energy goals, as NTPC eyes 130 GW total capacity by FY32.
