Kazakhstan exported 9.6 Mt of coal by rail via Russian ports in Jan-Oct 2025, up 34% YoY, local media reported. Baltic Sea ports handled the bulk – 6.2 million tons (+18% YoY), following an EU exemption allowing Kazakh coal transit via Russia. Exports are made not only to Europe, but also to Turkey and India.
