Peabody Energy received a U.S. Energy Department grant to produce rare earth elements and critical minerals in Wyoming, as the US seeks to strengthen its domestic supply chain, Bloomberg reported on Jul 7. It is the second American coal miner to win such funding this week, following Core Natural Resources' multi-million-dollar award for a Pennsylvania pilot plant.
