Indonesia's coke exports edged up in May 2026 from the previous month, while the year-on-year increase remained significant.

Indonesia's coke exports reached 739,200 tonnes in May, up 9.16% from 677,200 tonnes a year earlier and up 3.56% from 713,800 tonnes in April, showed data from the Statistics Indonesia (BPS).

Export value in May stood at $161 million, up 40.28% year on year but down 21.93% month on month. The average export price was calculated at $226.09/t, up 5.96% year on year and 4.02% from a month earlier.

India remained the largest destination for Indonesian coke in May, receiving 241,800 tonnes, a surge of 92.18% from a year ago but a decline of 51.16% from the previous month. 

Exports to Brazil totaled 106,200 tonnes, up 93.07% year on year but down 31.56% month on month. Shipments to Italy stood at 60,500 tonnes, flat from April, compared with zero in the same month last year.

For January-May 2026, Indonesia's cumulative coke exports reached 3.27 million tonnes, up 73.17% year on year. Export value totaled $699 million, up 65.73% from the same period last year, implying an average export price of $213.77/t, down 4.3% year on year.
