Japan's manufacturing PMI rose to 54.8 in June from 54.5 in May, marking the strongest quarterly performance in over 12 years, S&P Global said on July 1. "However, growth continues to be at least partly driven by stockpiling efforts among firms due to the war in the Middle East," said economics associate director Annabel Fiddes, adding that there is "a large degree of uncertainty as to whether this robust performance can be extended into the second half of the year."
