China's installed wind power and solar power capacity combined reached 820 GW by the end of April 2023, accounting for 30.9% of China's total power capacity, according to the National Energy Administration.
Specifically, China's wind power capacity stood at 380 GW and solar power 440 GW, representing 14.3% and 16.6% of the country's total, respectively.
During the first four months, China's added 62.51 GW of wind and solar power capacity, making up 74% of the country's total increment during the period, up 11.5 percentage points compared with the year-ago period.
Of that, newly-added wind power capacity totaled 14.20 GW and solar capacity 48.31 GW, comprising 16.8% and 57.2% of the total.
During the first four months, China's solar and wind power generation was registered at 482.8 TWh, up 26.8% year on year. It accounted for 17.2% of China's total, marking a 3 percentage points of increase compared with a year ago.
