Daily crude steel output at key member firms of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) stood at 2.25 million tonnes during May 11-20, dipping 0.24% compared with the previous ten days, the CISA data showed.
Daily production of pig iron averaged 2.00 million tonnes during the given period, inching down 0.52% from ten days ago. Daily output of finished steel gained 2.53% from ten days ago to 2.13 million tonnes.
Nationwide, daily production of crude steel is estimated to fall 0.12% from ten days ago to 2.91 million tonnes. The daily pig iron output is calculated at 2.43 million tonnes, dipping 0.38%, while daily finished steel production is estimated at 3.73 million tonnes, rebounding 1.34%.
As of end of May 20, CISA key member steel mills held 16.26 million tonnes of finished steel stocks, 7.65% or 1.35 million tonnes lower than early May and reducing 12.28% or 2.28 million tonnes compared with the same period in the preceding month. The volume was 11.10% or 1.63 million tonnes higher compared with the same period in the preceding year, data showed.
