China Energy Investment Corporation (CHN Energy) had completed 13.60 million tonnes of commercial coal supply during the seven-day Spring Festival holiday (January 21-27), rising 16% compared with the same lunar period last year, the group said.
Its commercial coal sales during the seven days came in at 13.15 million tonnes, 13% higher year on year.
CHN Energy maintained 73 coal mines in operation during the period with steady and high daily production to ensure energy supply during the holiday.
CHN Energy prioritized coal supplies to low-stocked power plants to increase their stocks back to more than 15 days' worth of usage.
Power generation of the group was up by 8.4% year on year to 18.1 TWh during the holiday, and heating supply climbed 13.3% to 20.64 million gigajoules, the company said.
Its chemical products also rose 18% year on year to 600,000 tonnes during the seven-day holiday.
