Guizhou, China's fourth coal-producing province, plans to cut coal-fired installed power generation capacity to 42% by 2025, according to a carbon peaking action plan issued by the provincial government.
The southwestern province will raise non-fossil fuel energy consumption to around 20% by 2025, and 25% by 2030.
Guizhou once vowed to produce 180 million tonnes of coal by 2025, with medium- and large-sized mines contributing 70% of the total output.
