Germany's hard coal imports reached 2.88 million tonnes in September, a 7.3% rise year on year, rebounding to a five-month high, preliminary data from German Statistics Bureau showed.
The imports jumped 18.11% from August, the data showed.
In September, value of the hard coal imports reached €1.05 million (about $1 billion), soaring 167.72% from a year earlier and up 13.79% from a month ago; the average import price was calculated at €365.34/t, up 149.5% year on year but down 3.66% month on month.
In January-September, Germany's hard coal imports totaled 26.49 million tonnes, a 14.38% rise year on year; value of the imports surged 269.4% to €8.47 billion.
