China's national rail network has realized an 11.1% year-on-year rise in coal shipment during January-September, with total volume at 1.57 billion tonnes. The power coal railings came in at 1.1 billion tonnes, up 17% on the year, showed data from the Official WeChat Account of China State Railway Corporation.
As of September 30, China's 363 power utilities that were directly supplied by railways had 65.48 million tonnes of coal in stocks, up 35.66 million tonnes on the year. This is enough to cover up 29 days' usage, up 15 days from a year ago.
The total cargo shipment rose 6.3% or 174 million tonnes to 2.92 billion tonnes during the first nine months of 2022.
