Shanxi coal mine roof collapse kills five workers

All the five workers trapped in a roof collapse accident at one Shanxi-based coal mine were confirmed dead after being trapped for three days, state media CCTV reported on August 8.


The accident took place at Fenghuangtai Coal Industry Co., Ltd in Qinyuan county, a major coal mining hub in Changzhi city of Shanxi, at 7:50 a.m. GMT+8 on August 5.


The mine has designed coal production capacity of 900,000 tonnes per annum, according to official document on Changzhi government website.
