Raw coal production in southeastern China's Guizhou province decreased by 0.2% in April compared with the same month of the previous year, according to data from the local energy bureau.
The downward pressure in the energy industry in the province had further increased in the first four months. The power generation continued to decline due to the shortage of raw coal supply and the decrease in rainfall.
From January to April, the power generation of firms above the designated size in the province decreased by 8.7% over the same period of the previous year, of which thermal power generation decreased by 9.4% and hydropower generation fell by 16.0%.
During the first four months, industrial electricity consumption fell by 1.0% compared with the same period of the previous year, and outward electricity transmission decreased by 36.3%.
