China's central province Henan consumed 27.3 TWh of power in April, a year-on-year rise of 1.28%, sending the total consumption during January-April to 120.84 TWh, up 4.65% from a year ago, showed data from supervision office of National Energy Administration in Henan.
Specifically, for non-residential segment, the primary industries – mainly the agricultural sector – consumed 0.48 TWh of electricity, up 24.65% from a year earlier. The secondary industries – mainly the industrial sector – used 17.44 TWh, up 5.91% year on year, and the tertiary industry – mainly the service sector – registered a 5.82% fall to 4.87 TWh.
Residential power usage decreased 8.57% on the year to 4.51 TWh in the month, while industrial and manufacturing power consumption respectively rose 6.45% and 9.01% year on year to 17.1 and 13.19 TWh.
Henan produced 23.83 TWh of power in April, a year-on-year rise of 7.45%, with the overall figure in January to April up 8.17% year on year to 104.02 TWh. Thermal power generation fell 5.92% year on year to 16.54 TWh, and hydropower generation jumped 144.75% to 1.3 TWh and wind rose 47.84% to 2.92 TWh. Solar power output rose 46.49% to 1.68 TWh.
As of the end-April, Henan has a total of 112.13 GW of installed power generation capacity, up 9.69 GW year on year.
