China imported 595,200 tonnes of anthracite in April, falling 30.55% from a year ago and 18.11% from the preceding month, showed data from the General Administration of Customs on May 23.
The import value was registered at $106 million last month, up 7.12% year on year but down 31.98% month on month. This translates to an average import price at $178.82/t, increasing $62.89/t from the preceding year but falling $36.48/t month on month.
China's imports of anthracite totaled 2.53 million tonnes during the first four months of 2022, down 7.62% year on year, with the import value at $505 million, surging 64.55% from a year ago.
