Germany imported 2.69 million tonnes of hard coal in September, an increase of 507,000 tonnes or 23.26% year on year, and rising 9.79% or 239,500 tonnes from August, showed preliminary data from the Federal Statistical Office of Germany.
The imports amounted to €393 million ($435.08 million) in September, jumping 138.65% year on year and 24.97% month on month. The average import price was calculated to be €146.43/t, up 93.61% on the year and 13.83% from a month ago.
In the first nine months of 2021, Germany imported 23.16 million tonnes of hard coal, an increase of 29.18% year on year. The imports were worth €2.3 billion, rising 48% on the year.
