Poland's coal production totaled 8.94 million tonnes in September, rising 6.48% from a year ago, but falling 1.62% from August, showed data from Central Statistical Office of Poland.
Hard coal output was 4.53 million tonnes in September, up 2.37% year on year and 5.74% month on month. Lignite production rose 11.06% on the year but fell 8.18% on the month to 4.41 million tonnes.
In January-September, Poland churned out 79.27 million tonnes of coal, 6.27% higher than the year-ago level. Output of hard coal and lignite stood at 40.98 million and 38.29 million tonnes, up 1.9% and 11.37% respectively from the preceding year.
