Raw coal production in eastern China's Anhui province hit a new high of 82.60 million tonnes as of end-September, as coal miners stepped up coal production amid supply crunch and strong demand.
The output was up 1.37 million tonnes or 1.68% year on year, showed data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
Meanwhile, Anhui province delivered favorable performance in safety during coal production. As of end-September, the province had recorded 335 days of continuous safe production at coal miners, setting a new record.
Fully-mechanized coal mining and fully-mechanized tunnel excavation reached 100% and 95.8% respectively at coal mines in Anhui, up 4% and 22.8% over that in the 12th Five-Year Plan period.
Anhui has built 7 intelligent coal mines and 75 intelligent mining and excavation work faces.
Besides, it strengthened alarming, prevention and treatment of high gas, floods and other hidden risks in the coal industry in January-September.
