China exported 470,000 tonnes of coal in August, surging 168.5% year on year and 176.47% over a month ago, according to data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC).
The export value in the month increased significantly by 216.2% on the year and 215.65% on the month to $71.83 million, data showed.
The export price was estimated at $152.83/t, up $18.97/t from the year before but plunging $108.94/t from last month.
China's coal exports in January-August added up to 1.81 million tonnes, falling 24.9% year on year, with cumulative export amount reducing 12.1% from the year-ago level to $290.04 million.
