All 19 workers trapped in a coal mine in northwestern China's Qinghai province after a flooding accident were confirmed dead after near one month of rescue, Xinhua News reported on September 13.
The accident happened around noon on August 14 when 21 people were working in the mine located in Gangca county, Haibei Tibetan autonomous prefecture and owned by Xihai Coal Development Co Ltd.
Two miners were brought to the surface on the day of the accident, but only one survived, according to the provincial emergency management department.
The mine, which opened in September 2009, produced 900,000 tonnes of coal a year, according to Xinhua News.
