China's coal mining and washing industry raked in a total profit of 114.03 billion yuan ($17.86 billion) during January-April, surging 91.5% from the year prior, showed data from the National Bureau of Statistics on May 27.
Operating revenue from main business of coal mining and washing enterpises came in at 760.29 billion yuan, rising 26.4% on the year, data showed.
Costs of the industry gained 18.4% year on year to 510.62 billion yuan during the first four months.
For the whole mining industry, total profit reached 217.13 billion yuan over January-April, soaring 102.9% from the preceding year. Revenue from main business in mining industry logged a year-on-year increase of 26% to 1.45 trillion yuan, while cost reached 998.65 billion yuan during the same period, up 17.7% on the year.
