Net profit of Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd, a listed arm Of China Datang Group, surged 185.25% year on year to 3.04 billion yuan ($463.2 million) last year, the company said in a report on March 27, 2021.
Revenue reached 95.61 billion yuan last year, ticking up 0.17% from the year before.
The company's total power generation reached 272.63 TWh in 2020, up 2.77% from the preceding year, of which on-grid power stood at 254.77 TWh , up 1.69% from the year before.
As of end-2020, the company's total assets reached 280.33 billion yuan, down 0.63% from the previous year; total liabilities were 188.94 billion yuan, decreasing 5.70% year on year; the debt-to-asset ratio was 67.40%.
As one of China's large independent power generation companies, Datang has power-generating subsidiaries across the country. The company's thermal power plants concentrate in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and southeast coastal regions; most hydropower plants are located in the southwest region; wind and photovoltaic power plants can be found in regions rich in wind or solar power, according to the report.
As of December 31, 2020, the company's power capacity reached 68.28 GW, 70.60% is powered by coal, 6.77% by natural gas, 13.48% by hydropower, 6.79% by wind, 2.32% by photovoltaic.
Newly installed capacity amounted to 4.70 GW last year, including 2.4 GW of thermal power capacity, 1.36 GW of wind power capacity, and 944.00 MW of photovoltaic capacity.
