Coal stocks at key power plants in central China's Hunan province stood at 3.28 million tonnes on February 24, worth of about 20 days of usage, local energy bureau said.
Coal consumption at these plants was registered at 3.77 million tonnes in January, up 20% from a year ago.
In the same month, power consumption climbed 18.2% to 18.98 TWh in the province, the bureau said.
Power usage in the primary industry –mainly the agriculture sector – increased 16.6% to 140 GWh; the secondary industry – mainly the industrial sector – consumed 9.24 TWh electricity, up 16.2% on the year; power usage of the tertiary industry – mainly service sector – climbed 18.8% to 3.89 TWh.
Residential power consumption gained 21.3% year on year to 5.72 TWh in January.
