Shanxi aims to produce 12 bcm unconventional gas in 2021

Shanxi will strive to expand unconventional natural gas production to 12 billion cubic meters in 2021, governor of the province said in the Fourth Session of the Thirteenth People's Congress of Shanxi Province on January 20.


In 2021, Shanxi will continue to unswervingly deepen reforms in key areas, and keep reducing carbon emission.


As China's top coke production base, the province said it will promote green and intelligent coal mining, optimize utilization of coal in different grades, and keep coal consumption no higher than a year ago.


The province plans to advance the electricity spot market trading system, and improve electricity pricing mechanism for strategic emerging industries. It will speed up the development and utilization of new energy and explore pilot construction for carbon emission trading markets.
