Colombian coal miner Drummond produced 29.30 million tonnes of coal, falling 10.3% compared with 32.60 million tonnes in 2019, due to the impact of COVID-19 outbreak, according to the company.
Its coal exports also declined 4.4% from 31.10 million tonnes in 2019 to 29.70 million tonnes in 2020.
Drummond significantly reduced operations in late March due to the coronavirus pandemic, before restarting some of its operations in April.
Production and exports also noticeably dropped at Cerrejon, another Colombian coal miner, owned equally by BHP Group, Anglo American and Glencore. Its production slumped 52% and exports tumbled 48.2% year on year in 2020.
