China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, produced 8.57 million tonnes of commercial coal in December, rising 14.6% year on year, the miner said in a statement recently.
The output, however, was down by 520,000 tonnes or 5.72% from the month-ago level, it said.
Over January-December, the coal major's commercial coal production reached 110.01 million tonnes, increasing 8% from the year prior.
Coal sales grew 6.9% year on year to 24.74 million tonnes in December, the company said. Sales of self-produced coal increased 10.5% on the year to 8.63 million tonnes, which, however, were 7.3% lower month on month.
Total commercial coal offtakes were 265.73 million tonnes over January-December, up 14.9% from a year ago. Sales of self-produced coal were up 9% year on year to 111.08 million tonnes.
