China 2020 finished steel exports down 16.5% on yr

China exported 53.67 million tonnes of finished steel in the year 2020, falling 16.5% from the year prior, according to data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC) on January 14.


The annual exports earned $45.47 billion yuan, down 15.4% year on year. The steel products export price averaged $847.2/t in 2020.


In December, China's finished steel exports rose 10.2% from November to 4.85 million tonnes, with export value up to $4.59 billion. The December steel product price therefore averaged at $946.06/t, up 2.3% month on month.
