India's top four steel enterprises churned out a total of 14.95 million tonnes of steel during October-December, rising 6% from a year ago.
Tata Steel India ranked first, with production up 3% year on year to 4.6 million tonnes during October-December. Sales of the company declined 4% to 4.66 million tonnes.
Steel production of SAIL increased 9% compared with the same period in 2019 to 4.37 million tonnes, and its sales climbed 6% to 4.32 million tonnes.
JSW Steel churned out 4.08 million tonnes of steel, up 9% year on year. The company did not release sales data.
Production of JSPL stood at 1.9 million tonnes during October-December, rising 18% on the year, and sales were registered at 1.9 million tonnes, 12% higher compared with a year ago.
The four major steelmakers' production accounted for about 45% of India's total.
