South Africa's Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) exported 6.31 million tonnes of coal in November, down 17.24% from the previous year and 10.32% from October, according to South African customs data.
RBCT exported 3.88 million tonnes of coal to India in November, down 11.53% on the year and 1.16% on the month.
Coal exports to Pakistan reached 1.06 million tonnes, slumping 31.02% from a year ago and 18.99% from October.
Shipments to Sri Lanka increased 22.7 year on year and 28.75% month on month to 303,200 tonnes. Departures to the UAE doubled year on year to 285,100 tonnes. Exports to Bangladesh surged 85.37% on the month to 214,100 tonnes.
Exports of bituminous coal from RBCT reached 6.27 million tonnes in November, a year-on-year fall of 16.39% and a month-on-month fall of 8.24%. Anthracite exports stood at 38,500 tonnes, tumbling 44.12% on the year and 80.89% on the month.
The terminal exported a total of 67.42 million tonnes of coal from January to November, down 3.95% from 70.2 million tonnes in the same period last year.
