South Africa's thermal coal (bituminous coal) exports fell 16.24% on the year and 7.47% on the month to 6.38 million tonnes in November, customs data showed.

India was the top destination with coal shipment of 3.88 million tonnes in November, falling 10.4% from a year ago and 1.16% from the preceding month. The combined thermal coal receipts in first eleven months fell 2.59% year on yearto 35.05 million tonnes.
S Africa exported 1.06 million tonnes of thermal coal to Pakistan in in November, slumping 31.02% year on year and 19.4% from October. Exports to Pakistan in January-November totaled 10.13 million tonnes, falling 8.46% year on year.
Sri Lanka took 303,200 tonnes of thermal coal from the country in November, rising 22.7% year on year and 28.75% month on month. Exports to UAE rose 100% on the year to 282,500 tonnes during the same month.
Cumulative thermal coal exports from January to November were 66.94 million tonnes, a decrease of 3.89% compared with 69.65 million tonnes in the same period last year.
