The state-run Coal India Ltd (CIL) reported a year-on-year increment of 3.3% in coal output to 51.7 million tonnes in November, the company said in its monthly production report released on December 1.
CIL's coal sales climbed 8% on the year to 51.3 million tonnes in November.
CIL's coal production started to rebound swiftly since August after a slump in first four fiscal months (April-July) due to the coronavirus lockdown.
CIL produced 335 million tonnes of coal in January-November, up 1.2% year on year, while sales ticked down by 1.8% from a year ago to 357 million tonnes.
CIL is the largest coal producer in India accounting for over 80% of the country's total output.
