Thermal coal prices picked up slightly in northern China's Inner Mongolia over November 21-30, showed official data.
Over the period, average mine-mouth settlement price of thermal coal in the region was 243.47 yuan/t, up 0.96% from ten days ago and 16.98% from a year ago, showed figures from Inner Mongolia Development and Reform Commission.
Settlement price for lignite in eastern part of Inner Mongolia was unchanged from ten days earlier to 227.85 yuan/t mine-mouth with VAT, which was 23.76% higher than the year-ago level; thermal coal price in Ordos in western Inner Mongolia averaged 303.33 yuan/t, up 3.41% from ten days ago and 25.52% year on year.
Power coal purchase price averaged 230.02 yuan/t in late-November, flat from ten days earlier but up 11.28% year on year, showed the data. That translated to 453.33 yuan/t for standard coal of 7,000 Kcal/kg NAR, which was also flat compared with that in November 11-20 period.
Purchase price for power coal in eastern Inner Mongolia was 219.37 yuan/t, flat from the previous ten days but up 11.28% year on year. Purchase price for power coal in western part of Inner Mongolia was stable from ten days ago but rose 11.28% from a year earlier to 238.55 yuan/t.
