Ningxia Hui autonomous region in northwestern China produced 7.43 million tonnes of raw coal in October, rising 21.3% from the year prior, showed data from local statistics bureau.
Raw coal output in the first ten months climbed 6.6% year on year to 67.4 million tonnes, 1.6 percentage points faster than January-September growth.
Production of bituminous coal rose 8.1% on the year to 62.81 million tonnes during the period; output of bituminous coal for coking purpose dropped 11.1% to 2.78 million tonnes, and anthracite output decreased 10.7% to 1.81 million tonnes.
In January-October period, Ningxia's raw coal sales stood at 61.72 million tonnes, up 3.8% year on year.
As of end-October, Ningxia held about 15 days' worth of raw coal stocks, at 3.1 million tonnes.
Ningxia's coke production totaled 7.67 million tonnes during the same period, up 13% from a year ago.
The region’s power generation increased 5.9% from a year ago to 151.85 TWh through January to October, with thermal power generation at 122 TWh, up 4.4% year on year, and renewable power output at 29.86 TWh, up 12.5%.
