Thermal coal prices picked up slightly in northern China's Inner Mongolia in November 11-20, showed official data.
In mid-November, average mine-mouth settlement price of thermal coal in the region was 241.16 yuan/t, up 0.05% from ten days ago and 15.23% from a year ago, showed figures from Inner Mongolia Development and Reform Commission.
Settlement price for lignite in eastern part of Inner Mongolia climbed 0.11% from ten days earlier to 227.85 yuan/t mine-mouth with VAT, which was 23.76% higher than the year-ago level; thermal coal price in Ordos in western Inner Mongolia averaged 293.33 yuan/t, flat from ten days ago but 18.92% year on year.
Power coal purchase price averaged 230.02 yuan/t in mid-November, dipping 0.62% from ten days earlier but up 11.28% year on year, showed the data. That translated to 453.33 yuan/t for standard coal of 7,000 Kcal/kg NAR, which was down 0.72% compared with that in November 11-20 period.
Purchase price for power coal in eastern Inner Mongolia was 219.37 yuan/t, down 1.46% from the previous ten days but up 11.28% year on year. Purchase price for power coal in western part of Inner Mongolia was stable from ten days ago but rose 11.28% from a year earlier to 238.55 yuan/t.
