China is estimated to consume 2.9 billion tonnes of coal in January-September period, according to Zhang Hong, the secretary of Committee for Discipline Inspection of the China National Coal Association (CNCA).
China produced 2.79 billion tonnes of coal over the same period, keeping flat with the year-ago level. Coal imports fell 4.4% year on year to 240 million tonnes.
Based on above data, supply and demand are forecast to strike a balance.
