Jilin Electric Power Co., Ltd., one major supplier of electricity and heating in Jilin province, said recently that restrictions on Australian coal imports will not affect the company, as it mainly imports coal from Russia, Indonesia and the Philippines this year.
To ensure heating supply in the northeastern region this winter, Jilin Electric Power will reasonably control fuel costs and realize stable operations, said the company. It is a listed branch of State Power Investment Corp.
Jilin Electric Power has formulated annual coal ordering plan based on consumption and determined key coal suppliers and supply volumes, it said, noting key transportation plans are also reported to China State Railway Group Co., Ltd.
As of the end of 2019, Jilin Electric Power had total installed power capacity of 6.70 GW, including 3.3 GW of thermal power capacity, all of which were cogeneration units. It mainly operates power generation and heating supply businesses in Changchun, Jilin, Siping and Baicheng with heating area reaching 60 million m2.
