Germany imported 1.5 million tonnes of hard coal in July, falling 35.69% year on year and 4.53% month on month, according to preliminary data from Federal Statistical Office of Germany.
In the month, Germany took 602,700 tonnes of hard coal from Russia, and 401,200 tonnes from the U.S and 238,500 tonnes from Australia.
Germany's import value of coal in July came in at €129 million ($152.79 million), plunging 50.49 year on year and declining 14% month on month. The import price therefore averaged at €85.88/t, contracting 23.02% YoY and 9.91% MoM.
In first seven months of 2020, Germany's total hard coal import was 13.77 million tonnes, sharply reducing 36.26% compared with the previous year. The import value slumped 48.21% year on year to €1.25 billion.
