China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, churned out 9.80 million tonnes of commercial coal in August, rising 9.3% year on year, said the firm in a statement late September 15.
The output was also up by 110,000 tonnes or 1.14% from the month-ago level, said the statement.
Over January-August, the coal major's commercial coal production reached 72.56 million tonnes, increasing 6.1% from the year prior.
Coal sales also grew 20.9% year on year to 23.56 million tonnes in August, although the growth slowed down compared with 31.5% increase registered in July, the company said.
The volume was a slight reduction of 0.72% compared with the preceding month.
Self-produced coal sales increased 7.6% on the year and 6.05% on the month to 9.81 million tonnes last month.
Total commercial coal offtakes over January-August were 15.8% higher than a year ago, at 162.92 million tonnes. Sales of self-produced coal were up 5.9% year on year to 72.38 million tonnes.
