China produced 119.13 million tonnes of steel products in August, rising by 11.3% year on year and up 0.47% from July, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics.
The average daily output of steel products was calculated at 3.84 million tonnes in August, 72,300 tonnes or 1.92% higher from July. The cumulative steel products output over January-August increased 4.8% on a yearly basis to 844.69 million tonnes.
China's crude steel output hit 94.85 million tonnes in August, up 8.4% year on year and up 1.6% month on month. The average daily output was 3.06 million tonnes in August, rising 1.6% from the preceding month.
China produced 688.89 million tonnes of crude steel in the first eight months of 2020, up 3.7% year on year.
Pig iron output reached 78.55 million tonnes in August, an increase of 5% year on year and rising 0.47% from July. The average daily output was 2.52 million tonnes, growing 0.47% from the previous month.
The output of pig iron totaled 589.4 million tonnes over January-August period, growing by 3.4% on the year.
