China has 12 coal companies included in the ranking of Fortune Global 500 list in 2020, according to a list released August 10, increasing one compared with a year ago.
China Energy Investment Corporation (China Energy or CHN Energy) ranked 108th among the world's leading companies with a revenue of $8.05 billion. Shandong Energy Group Co., Ltd. ranked 212nd with total 2019 revenue of $5.19 billion.
Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. reaped $4.38 billion of revenue last year, ranking 273rd, and Yankuang Group Co., Ltd. ranked 295th, with $4.13 billion revenue.
Shanxi Jincheng Anthracite Mining Group Co., Ltd. ranked 500th in Fortune Global 500 list and ranked last among Chinese companies.
Seven companies slipped down the rankings this year, and three rose. China Coal Energy Co., Ltd. was added to the list this year, with revenue of $2.59 billion, ranking 496th.
A total of 133 Chinese companies based in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, were ranked as the Fortune Global 500 enterprises, exceeding 121 firms in the U.S. for the first time in history.
