Ordos city in Inner Mongolia reported a 16.8% year-on-year drop in coal sales to 51.40 million tonnes in July, data showed from Ordos Energy Bureau.
Coal sales of local mines came in at 39.19 million tonnes, down by 20.8% year on year, while China Energy Investment Group (CHN Energy) sold 12.21 million tonnes, sliding 0.9%.
In the first seven months, the city's coal sales were 12.5% lower than the year prior at 359.45 million tonnes.
Coal sales of local mines dropped 16.7% from the preceding year to 274.86 million tonnes, while sales of CHN Energy increased 4.8% to 84.59 million tonnes.
In July, average coal price in Ordos was 306 yuan/t, falling 2 yuan/t or 0.6% from a year ago. Average price of raw coal increased 1 yuan/t to 295 yuan/t, while that of slump coal dropped 4.7% to 342 yuan/t, and mixed coal price averaged 290 yuan/t, rising 1.7%.
In January-July, average coal price came in at 284 yuan/t, falling 25 yuan/t year on year.
