China Taiwan imported 30.42 million tonnes of coke in July, slumping 82.72% from the preceding month and hitting the lowest level since May 2018, data showed.
The imports were also 68.64% lower compared with the same month a year ago, customs data showed.
All of Taiwan's coke imports came from mainland China, rising 2.18% from a year ago yet down 3% from June.
Total coke imports were worth $8.58 million last month, falling 67.97% year on year and 77.25% from the previous month. That translated to an average price of $282.05/t, up 2.12% YoY and 31.64% MoM.
Over January-July, Taiwan took 165,700 tonnes of coke in total, a fall of 8.69% compared with the same period a year earlier. The import value was also down 23.49% on the year to $53.06 million.
