All of coal mines in northwestern China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region will basically become intelligent by 2035, stated in a document released by government bodies in Ningxia.
Ningxia currently has 27 coal mines in production with a total capacity of 102.55 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), and 20 coal mines under construction with combined construction scale of 24.15 Mtpa.
Among them, the number of large-sized coal mines with an individual capacity of 1.2 Mtpa and above is 27 and their capacities total 116 Mtpa.
The large and medium-sized coal mines in Ningxia have basically realized mechanization and automation in coal extraction and advancement in recent years, while many deficiencies still exit. For example, the level of intelligent operation is relatively low, technical standards and specifications are incomplete and the allocation of technical equipment is not sufficient.
The document proposes that Ningxia will build up a pilot intelligent coal mine and more than five pilot intelligent fully-mechanized working faces by 2021, realizing operations with no or few workers in the fully-mechanized mining faces and reducing workers and lifting efficiency in the tunneling faces.
By 2025, all large-sized coal mines with a capacity of 1.2 Mtpa or more each and coal mines with serious disasters will basically realize intelligent decision-making and automated and coordinated operation in exploitation design, geological support, mining, transportation, ventilation, washing and preparation, logistics, etc.
By 2035, all types of coal mines in the region will basically become intelligent and build up multi intelligent systems integrating intelligent perception, intelligent decision-making and automatic execution.
The intelligence of coal mines means that all fully-mechanized mining faces realize intelligent mining, all aboveground and underground fixed sites and facilities realize remote monitoring and unmanned operation, and the main production processes realize intelligent decision-making and automatic and coordinated operation.
It can effectively reduce the number of underground single-shift workers and finally realize unmanned automatic production.
