Japan Association of Corporate Executives (JACE) suggested to improve the proportion of renewable energy to 40% in energy mix by 2030, of which 30% are solar and wind, the rest is bioenergy, it wrote in a report submitted to the government.
In 2015, Japanese government once approved the new target of 26% greenhouse gas reduction, and renewables must account for 22%-24% of electricity generation by 2030.
If renewables' proportion can be lifted to 40%, the greenhouse reduction target can be achieved without cutting nuclear power capacity, said the local media.
Hiroshi Kajiyama, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, once announced that Japan is accelerating the introduction of renewable energies, as the cost outside Japan gradually decreased. Japan need to attach great importance on this field and strengthen competiveness.
