Southeastern China's Fujian province had a total 35 coal mines in production as of the end of June, with capacity combined at 6.39 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), local authority said.
Specifically, there were 18 coal mines in Longyan city, 15 in Sanming and 2 in Quanzhou. Six among them were scheduled to be closed by the end of 2020, with capacity over 0.75 Mtpa.
The number of coal mines under construction stood at 15, with capacity of 3.39 Mtpa, according to the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information technology.
Of these mines, 10 are located in Longyan, 4 in Sanming and 1 in Quanzhou. Six belongs to resource integration projects, six are reconstruction and expansion projects, and the remaining three are new projects, with designed capacity of 0.9 Mtpa.
