Xinjiang registered a 57.6% year-on-year jump in power transmission to other provinces to 10.4 TWh in July, Xinjiang Daily learned from Xinjiang Power Electric Co., Ltd.
It was the first time that the monthly power transmission from Xinjiang had exceeded 10 TWh.
Of this, 3.43 TWh of new energy electricity was transmitted, accounting for 33% of the total outbound transmission.
The continuous growth of its outbound power transmission was also attributed to the signing of such agreements between Xinjiang and 19 provinces and areas in the whole country, which helped expanding consuming regions of its electricity.
Rapid growth of new energy electricity transmission also played a significant part, which meanwhile boosted digestion of local new energy.
Xinjiang has rich coal, wind and solar resources. So far, its outbound power transmission capacity has reached 16.40 GW, exceeding more than half of power generating capacity of Three Gorges hydropower plant.
Outbound power transmission could translate to economic advantages for Xinjiang, as transmission of 10.4 TWh of electricity equals to creation of 2.3 billion yuan of direct economic revenue for Xinjiang and an increase of 300 million yuan of tax revenue.
