Germany registered around 437 MW new capacity of photovoltaic in June, greatly increasing from 235.1 MW in June last year, showed the latest data from the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur).
Although the 437 MW is slightly lower than 446 GW in May, it is still higher than the combination of newly-added capacity in the first four months.
The rooftop segment accounted for the largest share of the total in June, at 336 MW, said the Federal Network Agency.
Over the first six months of 2020, the fresh capacity of PV in the country stood at 2.36 GW, higher than year-ago level of 2.02 GW. If the current growth rate continues, the installations of this year are expected to outstrip last year's addition.
According to Bundesnetzagentur, Germany's cumulative PV installed capacity came in at 51.5 GW at the end of June, higher than the year-ago level of 48 GW.
