Japan imported 20,500 tonnes of coke in June, down 5.09% from May and falling 83.02% from 120,700 toones over the year prior, data showed from the Japan Ministry of Finance.
Its coke imports from mainland China totaled 18,700 tonnes in June, marking a sharp year-on-year decline of 84.39 and down 1.58% from a month ago.
Taiwan provided 1,800 tonnes of coke to Japan during the same period, up 5.88% month on month and 100% year on year.
Japan's coke imports value stood at 826 million yen (55.04 million yuan) in June, falling 78.19% year on year and 3.6% month on month. The import price accordingly averaged 40,315.56 yen/t based on calculation, rising 28.39% year on year and 1.57% month on month.
